“Friendship, Loyalty, and Charity” is our social purpose.
Observatory Parlor was chartered August 13, 1891 and has served the great=
er
Santa Clara County area since it inception. One will also find that it is=
subordinate
to the Grand Parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West that is located in San
Francisco, CA. The Internal Revenue Service recognizes Observatory Parlor
177, NSGW as a community based non-profit fraternal & charitable
organization 501 (c) (8). Annually we solicit our membership and guest to
donate to a trust fund held by our parent organization that supports free
surgery for children afflicted with facial and cranial abnormalities. In
addition to the above charitable purpose Observatory Parlor also particip=
ates
in the erection & dedication of historical interpretive monuments in =
an
effort to perpetuate the history of the State of California. Observatory Parlor (named
after the Lick Observatory, Mount Hamilton) meets at 6:00 P.M. for a Busi=
ness
Meeting that is followed by a Social Meeting on the 3rd Wed. of
each month, except for the months of May and December. Our Social Meetings
(including dinner and drinks) start at 6:30 P.M. & might last to nine
o’clock. The maximum expenditure of time is the three hours that
includes the enjoyment of a dinner and one dollar drinks -
currently $7.50 is being assessed for the dinner. The ten
monthly meetings are held at the Willow Glen American Legion Hall located=
at
1504 Minnesota Ave, San Jose, CA Lastly, Observatory Parl=

currently consists of around sixty members ) w=
ho
enjoy getting together & swapping stories of their adult or common
experiences. One will find that the personality of the Parlor is low key,
come as you are, and is informal. Again, you a=
re invited
to affiliate or first attend as a guest. We do ask that you might contact=
