Holiday Dinner last month

There were 39 attendees for the 2007 December Holiday Dinner held at Vahl’s Restaurant in Alviso. A good party and a great time for all to get acquainted. If you missed it, you missed a good one. Plan a little better and we will see you at the 2008 Dinner Dance. Write it on the calendar now, you know, on the refrigerator!

March 19th 2008 Cleft Palate Fund Benefit

A Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner & Dance will be held on the 19th and the donations received from this benefit will go to the Cleft Palate Fund, all donations are tax deductible. Ernie Rose says that he will have a spectacular tender cut of Corned Beef this year to sink your teeth into. Let’s all attend this event; the cooperation of all members is now needed to reach our Parlors Cleft Palate charitable objectives. This is “The fund raiser for the year”, be there or be square!

Contact Ernie Rose (408) 279-8562 or E-mail at “marlene_rose1@yahoo.com”.

May 21, 2008 Bingo Night

Yes, folks, it’s another wild, windy, whacky, crazy, night with Patrick Alowishes Sweeney at the helm. Be prepared to be amazed at the different, various, and insundry ways a bingo number can be called. Professional Bingo “callers” have nothing on this man. Dinner, Bingo and Pat Sweeney, what more could a person ask for. For those of you who don’t know, John Belushi had not only Jim, as a brother but also the lesser known but still flamboyant brother, PAT! Stay tune for more details…. BINGO!

Word to the Wise

Though your tasks and many and your rewards are few,

Don’t forget that the mighty oak was once a nut like you.

Joke of the Quarter

This guy walks by a travel agency that has a sign posted outside, which reads “around the world cruise $100.” The guy thinks it must be a misprint, but the next day he sees 30 people lined up outside the travel agency with baggage in hand. He waits another day and goes back to the travel agency. He inquires about the pricing and is informed that “yes it is a around the world cruise for $100”. He is told to give them $100 and come back the next day with his baggage. Upon arrival the following day, he is instructed to enter the back room, which is separated by a curtain.

Upon entering the room he is clubbed over the head from behind with a blunt object and knocked out. Upon awakening, he finds himself on a raft with other people in the middle of the ocean. He says to himself, “this must be the around the world cruise, guess it could be worse”. He inquires of one of the other passengers if Champaign is served on the trip. The man replies, “I don’t think so, they didn’t serve any last time”……

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

**Feed-Back Needed**

-E-mail me your joke and if it is published you will be rewarded handsomely. Not!

-Who should be the next Member of the quarter, and why? E-mail me.

-What additional information would you like to see in the “Parlor Chatter, Quarterly”?

            - Is it Hidden Valley Ranch or Lost Valley Ranch? Who knows? Do You?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-Did you know that John Miguelgory has reinstated the 50/50 “Pickle Jar Raffle”? Yes that’s right Brothers. Drop a $1 or $5 off with John and he might, just maybe, show you “THE JAR”!  And maybe you will win big $ later in the year.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our President Jim Glancey has requested that there needs to be more socializing at, and after the meetings. He would like to see some type of event take place after the meeting, such as poker, other card game or some other activity. Don’t just up and leave, stick around. Remember the Brotherhood and the “secret hand shake”.
